Why Northbridge is different
Northbridge sits apart from the tighter harbourside suburbs nearby. Blocks are larger and greener, but many drop steeply towards a reserve or the water, so retaining, terracing and access dominate the brief. A good number back directly onto bushland, which brings tree protection, bushfire considerations and a design language that should blend into the canopy rather than clear it.
